J. TODD GREENE
For almost two decades, J. Todd Greene has developed a distinct visual commentary using sweeping strokes combining oils and acrylics on paper and canvas. In his 3000 sq ft studio in historic downtown Nashville, you will find him creating paintings between writing music for his band and teaching art to locals.
Often focused on the paradoxical nature of all that we see and hear, Greene has produced hundreds of pieces referencing the mysterious parts of life often in combination with symbols taken from his grandfather's sermon cards. From the game of red rover to new patriot machine imagery, scenic Southwestern aerials, religious carnival clowns and the challenges of growing old, Greene has expressed them all. And continues to do so.
There are many influences that make us who we are, and shape our now -- even perhaps, our eternity. As he works out his own salvation and notes these experiences with brush and lyric, we reap the rewards. The unmistakable power in Greene's work makes us all better. Look and listen.
